Install

time.
Turn
off
ceiling fans
when not in room to conserve energy.
A
ceiling fan will use $7 to $10
per month if used 24-7.
Don't
overload a circuit. Most breakers
are 15-20 amps. (call us to make
sure) Add up the amps required for
each electrical device you are
plugging in and make sure that the
total does not exceed the amps for
that circuit.
Overloaded circuits can overheat
and catch fire or stop working. Multiple outlets may
be connected to one circuit. Ask a
Sens Electrician for more details.
Make
sure all bathrooms and kitchens are
equipped with
GFCI outlets
for your safety.
(Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter)
This could save your life. Call a
Sens Electrician to
check, test and install new
GFCI outlets.
Bedroom circuits require
Arc Fault breakers.
Make
sure all receptacles still hold
plugs tight. A loose outlet or
switch can cause a fire.
Fire Prevention
If
you ever smell smoke, see smoke or
hear noises coming from an outlet or
switch. Turn off the power at main
breaker and call Sens immediately. It
is likely an easy fix but, if not
fixed soon, this could cause a fire.
If
an electrical device begins to smoke or
has an usual smell, unplug it
immediately and call Sens. It may have
to be repaired or replaced.
Replace
frayed or cracked electrical cords and
don't overload extension cords. They
should also never be placed under rugs
due to the heat they generate when
overloaded.
Be
sure to check your smoke detectors once
a month and the batteries at least once
a year.
